Troubleshooting mass calibration issues on QTofs and Tofs with MagneTOF detectors (Guided Troubleshooting) - WKB97355
Article number: 97355
SYMPTOMS
- IntelliStart calibration fails; does not start or becomes unresponsive
- "Beam intensity too low" or "Beam too intense" error may appear
- Calibration data collection may take a long time to complete
- Some calibrant peaks are of low intensity, missing, or flagged (!)
- High RMS residual or confidence interval may be observed
- MS may go into Standby/Source Standby mode during calibration

STRATEGY
TROUBLESHOOTING CALIBRATION FAILURES:
- Ensure that the correct peaks are being selected for calibration - WKB7760
- Manually clear the peaks causing poor calibration - WKB48139
- Ensure that the calibrant bottle is at position C - WKB16264
- Adjust your calibration mass range, if possible, to exclude high background peaks - WKB61788
- Set the RF settings appropriately for the calibration mass range - WKB3053
- Increase flow rate - WKB28052
- Optimize the capillary voltage, cone voltage, collision energy, and RF settings for a more even distribution of peaks - WKB91505
- Tune for better resolution and peak shape - WKB1813
- Dilute the calibration solution if peaks are too intense - WKB83081
- Prepare fresh calibrant - WKB6836
TROUBLESHOOTING CALIBRATION NOT STARTING:
