Xevo G2-XS calibration taking too long - WKB91505

Article number: 91505

SYMPTOMS

When calibrating the Xevo G2-XS via IntelliStart, the software collects calibration data for longer than expected (>5 minutes).

ENVIRONMENT

  • MassLynx
  • IntelliStart
  • Xevo G2
  • Xevo G2-S
  • Xevo G2-XS
  • SYNAPT G2-S
  • SYNAPT G2-Si
  • SYNAPT XS

CAUSE

Weak signal on one of the peaks is forcing the software to collect a lot of data to have good ion statistics for that peak.

FIX or WORKAROUND

  1. Optimize the capillary voltage, cone voltage, collision energy, RF setting, and quad profile in the tune page to obtain a more even signal distribution of peaks across the mass range you are calibrating (for example, try to get all the peaks as close to the same signal intensity as possible). Save the tune page.
  2. In the IntelliStart calibration wizard, turn the collision energy on and specify the optimized collision energy value.
  3. In the IntelliStart calibration wizard, select "Tune Page - use the Tune Page setting." for both cone voltage and capillary voltage.
