Nitrogen (N2) gas failure error on a Xevo Source mass spectrometer - WKB90328
Article number: 90328
SYMPTOMS
- Nitrogen (N2) gas failure error.
- Output pressure from N2 generator low.
ENVIRONMENT
- 3100 Mass Detector
- ACQUITY SQD system
- SQ Detector
- ACQUITY TQD system
- TQ Detector
- SQ Detector 2
- Xevo TQ MS
- Xevo TQD
- Xevo TQ-S
- Xevo TQ-S cronos
- Xevo TQ-S micro
- Xevo TQ-XS
- Synapt G2-Si
CAUSE
Nitrogen supplied to the instrument is below the required pressure of 100 PSI.
FIX or WORKAROUND
- Confirm the Nitrogen generator output is 100psi, adjust if needed.
- If the error still exists, set all gas flows to the maxiumum and recheck pressure.
- If the output pressure drops the nitrogen generator likely needs service.
- If the output pressure does not drop, the MS Nitrogen inlet valve may need to be adjusted. See respective technical reference for instructions.
