SYMPTOMS

  • Xevo G2-XS

CAUSE

It collides with the argon gas in the collision cell and decays.

FIX or WORKAROUND

When Collision Energy in the MS Method is set to Off, a 6V collision voltage is applied.
As shown in the figure below, after setting Collision Energy to On, specify a value smaller than 6V (e.g., 3V).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The following ions tend to undergo in-source decay.
– Ions less than m/z 300
– Ions with high valence
– Ions with unstable structure
