MS scan detects the spectrum of the target compound cleavage: Caused by Collision Energy - WKB74705

Article number: 74705

SYMPTOMS

  • MS scan detects the spectrum of the target compound cleavage.

ENVIRONMENT

  • Synapt G2-S
  • Synapt G2-Si
  • Xevo G2-S
  • Xevo G2-XS

CAUSE

It collides with the argon gas filled in the collision cell and decays.

FIX or WORKAROUND

When Collision Enegy in MS Method is set to Off, a 6V collision voltage is applied.
As shown in the figure below, after setting Collision Energy to On, enter a value smaller than 6V (eg. 3V).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The following ions tend to undergo in-source decay.
– Ions less than m/z 300
– Ions with high valence
– Ions with unstable structure
