Fluidics Baffle error message on Vion - WKB4791

SYMPTOMS

Fluidics Baffle error displayed under Vion IMS QTof in the system panel on the right-hand side.

ENVIRONMENT

• Vion 2.0.0 Driver
• Vion 2.2.0 Driver
• UNIFI 
• Vion

CAUSE

The error message is new in the 2.0.0 and 2.2.0 driver and is displayed when more than one portal is open in UNIFI/Quartz. If a method is running, and then UNIFI/Quartz tune page is opened, it tries to load the system settings and disrupts the method values. When running acquisitions, ensure that the tune page and Quartz is closed.

Also see during an analysis the instrument tab is open.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Switch the baffle position to remove the error.
2. Do not open tune page when an acquisition is running.
3. Electronics reboot of Vion if all else fails
