SYMPTOMS

• Fluidics valve always goes to waste
• Nitrogen generator 100 psi
• Source pressure test successful
• No error message on the Instrument Console

ENVIRONMENT

• Xevo TQ-XS
• Xevo TQ Absolute

CAUSE

API gas is OFF.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Turn on the API gas.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This message is normal whenever the API gas is shut off, the instrument is shut down, or the MS is rebooted. It is a built-in safety mechanism to divert the flow to waste when the API gas is off so the source does not flood from LC flow.
