ANSWER

The Acquity UPLC system runs at high flow rates. When optimizing desolvation and thus sensitivity, appropriate gas flows and desolvation temperatures are needed. Intellistart Software automatically sets these parameters when you enter a flow rate, according to the following table.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

At higher flow rates, capillary voltage may need to be reduced and probe position may need to be adjusted away from the cone. Notice: If you position the probe too close to the sample cone, nonlinear data, sample suppression, and the need for frequent source cleaning can result.
