How to correctly match the m/z 74.1 calibration reference peak on Xevo TQ-XS - WKB191245

SYMPTOMS

• 74.1 Da peak is not correctly matched on the Xevo TQ-XS calibration
• IntelliStart calibration passes
• Possible drop in sensitivity for low masses after calibration of the Xevo TQ-XS
• The measured masses below m/z 200 are more than +/- 0.2 Da away from the theoretical masses
• In the calibration graph, masses below m/z 200 show high residuals (see calibration graph below)

ENVIRONMENT

• Xevo TQ-XS

CAUSE

The 74.1 Da peak is not intense enough, and the calibration fails to match the correct reference peak.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Follow the procedure in "Additional Information" to correctly match the reference peak m/z 74.10 and to improve low mass accuracy.
