No control of API or collision gas - WKB1597

Article number: 1597

SYMPTOMS

  • Cannot turn on API gas
  • Cannot turn on/off collision gas
  • Tune page appears to have communication (source temperature is tracking) but Operate mode is not possible
  • On the sample list page, instead of "Not Scanning" or "Instrument Not Present", the status message is "Instrument Present"
  • Can ping the EPC

ENVIRONMENT

  • Xevo TQ-S

  • MassLynx 4.x
  • Empower 3

CAUSE

Unknown

FIX or WORKAROUND

  1. Close MassLynx (or Empower)
  2. Reset the EPC using the button behind the front panel.
  3. Ensure that the EPC reboots and that it can be pinged successfully (START > Run, enter ping epc -t into the Run dialog).
  4. For MassLynx, launch software (Look for "Not Scanning" message in the MS status along the bottom edge of the sample list)
  5. For Empower, Log in and go to Run Samples. Open the Console > Intellistart page to access Tune page
  6. On the Tune page, you can now go into Operate mode and control both gases.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

If just resetting the EPC does not resolve the problem on a Xevo TQ-S it may be necessary to do a full electronics reboot
