SYMPTOMS

  • Sample syringe leak test failure
  • No peaks observed in chromatogram

CAUSE

Air in lines

FIX or WORKAROUND

  1. Tighten the sample syringe by turning it clockwise.
  2. Reprime the sample syringe 30 times with methanol and verify that the syringe has no air bubbles.
  3. Repeat the test.
     

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Double-check the seal wash and purge lines and make sure that the filters are fully submerged in solvent. If the filters are above the solvent or air bubbles are seen in the seal wash or purge lines, prime the sample syringe for 30 cycles - or until the air bubbles are purged from the syringe.
