SYMPTOMS

• SM-FTN fails sample syringe leak test
• No peaks in chromatogram

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY UPLC Sample Manager - Flow Through Needle
• ACQUITY UPLC Sample Manager

CAUSE

Air trapped in syringe fluidics

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. For SM-FTN, detach the outlet check valve from the injection valve (port 2), reprime the syringe, and then reattach the check valve.
2. Also, try to tighten the sample syringe counter-clockwise.
3. Repeat the leak test.
