SYMPTOMS

  • The QSM has a gray/blank control panel in the Empower run samples window
  • The rest of the modules (e.g., FTN, PDA, CM) are populated
  • Resetting from the console does not work

ENVIRONMENT

  • ACQUITY UPLC H-Class
  • ACQUITY UPLC H-Class Bio
  • QSM (Quaternary Solvent Manager)
  • ACQUITY PDA
  • ACQUITY UPLC BSM
  • Empower 3

CAUSE

Unknown

FIX or WORKAROUND

  1. Close Empower
  2. Turn off the QSM
  3. Double-click and run the StopAcquityprocesses.cmd. (See article 13593.) 
  4. Delete the AcquitySettings.xml. (See article 7878.)
  5. Open services app and reconfigure Waters DHCP Server, by removing all components from the DHCP and switching off all the modules.
  6. Reboot the LACE and wait until the reboot is complete, about 10 minutes.
  7. Turn on the QSM and the rest of the modules, and wait for the DHCP to populate.
  8. Launch Empower to access the system.
