UPC2 BSM goes over pressure and convergence manager does not reach set pressure - WKB32125

Article number: 32125

SYMPTOMS

  • UPC2 BSM pump pressure rises over a few minutes and eventually gives a high pressure error
  • Convergence manager is not able to reach set pressure
  • Ambient CO2 level reading from convergence manager console window is elevated when the system is pumping
  • Normal ambient levels are around 400 ppm

ENVIRONMENT

  • ACQUITY UPC2

CAUSE

Leak on column managers. Inlet switching valve is icing up due to the leak, causing overpressure on the BSM.

The leak is the reason why the convergence manager cannot pressurize.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Replace the column manager outlet tubing, making sure not to over-tighten the connections.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Any tubing from the column manager outlet onward can cause this issue, so if the outlet tubing does not resolve the issue, check the piping further along the flow path.
