How do I add a certificate to my NuGenesis 8 SDMS server for securing LDAP authentication? - WKB90344

Article number: 90344

OBJECTIVE or GOAL

Add a certificate to SDMS for LDAPS.

ENVIRONMENT

  • NuGenesis 8 SDMS

PROCEDURE

  1. Get a copy of the LDAP server's public-key certificate. The common name on the certificate (the "Subject" or "Issued To" name) must match the name as entered into the LDAP configuration in NuGensis.
    • The certificate file must be in the base64-encoded DER format and have the file extension ".cer".
  2. Copy the certificate file or files to the NuGenesis SDMS servers, into the path Drive:\Program Files (x86)\NuGenesis 8.0\Common Files.
  3. Restart SDMS Administrator if it is open, and then log in to SDMS Admin and test the LDAPS connection.
  4. Restart the NuGenesis server so that the SDMS services use the updated LDAP configuration and the certificates.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The information in this article applies only to NuGenesis 8 SDMS. For NuGenesis 9 SDMS, see article WKB59907; for NuGenesis 8 and 9 LMS, see article WKB53634.
