Error "The socket connection was aborted" appears in the NuGenesis Archive Agent log file - WKB59041

SYMPTOMS

• No Empower data is archived into NuGenesis

ENVIRONMENT

• NuGenesis 9 SDMS
• NuGenesis 8 SDMS
• Empower 3

CAUSE

The "WatersService" service was not running during the import of the project into Empower; or, the machine running the SDMS DataExchangeService cannot connect to the WatersService.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Start "WatersService" on the Empower server
2. Ensure that the firewall on the Empower server, if active, allows the network ports as prescribed in the Waters Informatics Infrastructure Reference Guide, as linked in article WKB5512
3. If using a virtual machine, ensure that the machine running the SDMS DataExchange services is on the same network as the Empower server
