Cannot archive Empower projects with more than 60,000 channels into NuGenesis SDMS - WKB55225

SYMPTOMS

• Projects that contain more than 60,000 channels are not archived by NuGenesis
• The project is copied into the TE_TEMP folder on the NuGenesis file capture server but remains in that folder, and its associated .NGD file is renamed to .mark_bad
• The .mark_bad file contains this message:

  • Error String1:0: 1 : 534: Exception Occured.

ENVIRONMENT

• NuGenesis 8 SDMS
• MaxChannels registry key is modified to allow archive of projects with more than 32,000 channels

CAUSE

The NuGenesis Transport Engine is unable to archive grouped data that have more than 60,000 files in the group. This limitation applies to Empower projects that are archived as one file group by NuGenesis.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Split the data in the project into multiple Empower projects, so that no one project has more than 60,000 channels.
