OBJECTIVE or GOAL
Direct SDMS to a new FTP host for a Managed Storage location without changing the location parameters.
ENVIRONMENT
- NuGenesis 8 SDMS
- The FTP server used for one or more NuGenesis Managed Storage locations is replaced with a new server with a new hostname
PROCEDURE
- Stop the NuGenesis RPC 8.0 service on the NuGenesis File Capture server or servers.
- Open the Hosts file (C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts) in Notepad.
- Enter a line that contains the IP address of the new FTP server and the name of the old FTP server. Example:
- 10.101.105.230 oldFTPServerHostname
- Save and close the file.
- Copy all of the files from the old FTP server to the new one per the linked article.
- Skip step 5 if the FTP server is merely renamed instead of replaced by a new machine.
