Error "[NG14683] Exception occurred on sMSL in PrintToDB" appears in mark bad files in the NuGenesis SDMS TE TEMP folder - WKB120214

SYMPTOMS

• The following error message appears in the mark_bad files for printed reports:
  • [NG14683] Exception occurred on sMSL in PrintToDB
• The following error message appears in the mark_bad files for archived files:
  • Exception occurred

ENVIRONMENT

• NuGenesis 9 SDMS
• NuGenesis 8 SDMS
• Managed Storage enabled for one or more projects in SDMS

CAUSE

The "secure" flag is set in the Managed Storage Location definition in SDMS Administrator, but the FTP site is not configured for secure FTP.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Either remove the Secure flag from the Managed Storage location definition or configure the FTP site for secure FTP.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The following status codes are seen in the IIS FTP log files in cases where Secure is checked in SDMS and secure FTP is not enabled in IIS:
