MS waiting for DHCP in Hyperterminal Log - WKB7608

SYMPTOMS

• MS does not receive communications after a restart
• Cannot ping EPC
• Nothing showing in WDHCPserver wizard - including ACQUITY modules 
• Hyperterminal Boot Sequence hanging at "Waiting for DHCP" line:

• Xevo TQ-S (but any MS with Dynamic Boot sequence DHCP comms)

• SYNAPT G2-S
• SYNAPT G2-Si
• SYNAPT XS
• Windows
• Antivirus software

CAUSE

Antivirus software is blocking communication with the instrument

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Remove antivirus software to confirm that the antivirus software is causing the issue
2. Configure the antivirus software to not interfere with MassLynx operation (responsibility of customer, not Waters).  See WKB21150 for antivirus scanning exclusions to put in place
