How to monitor the MassLynx and/or AutoLynx queue via the status.ini file - WKB76207

Article number: 76207

OBJECTIVE or GOAL

Monitor the queue status using the MassLynx status file, after submitting either an OpenLynx batch file (.OLB) to AutoLynx or a MassLynx sample file to run.

ENVIRONMENT

  • MassLynx
  • AutoLynx
  • OpenLynx

PROCEDURE

Configure the Status.ini file to refresh at a suitable frequency:

  1. In the Tools shortcut, select Options.
  2. Under MassLynx Status, select the "Update status" box and change the refresh rate to a suitable time relative to the run time and how often you want to check the status (e.g., 20 seconds if using short run times).
  3. Note the location of the status.ini file. Default is C:\MassLynx.
  4. Ensure that the PC user has rights to write/modify the status.ini file.
  5. Restart MassLynx.
  6. If using, configure AutoLynx.
  7. Analyze samples either by adding to the sample list or, for AutoLynx, adding .OLB files to the AutoLynx Queue folder.
  8. The C:\MassLynx\status.ini file will be updated with information as samples are added and analyzed.
  9. When the queue is empty, the status.ini file will show this too.
  10. Look for [Queue Status].
