Skyline method export error with Xevo TQ-XS and MassLynx 4.2 SCN 943 - WKB60478

SYMPTOMS

• Unable to export MassLynx methods from Skyline
• When selecting File > Export > Export method, the following error message appears:
  • ERROR: Method not found: 'BooleanCompoundDatabaseClassLibrary.CompoundDatabase.InsertNewIonDetails(Int32, Int32, TransMode, Int32, Int32, Int32, Int32, Int32, Int32
• Problem occurs whether a fresh MS method template (.exp file) is created in MassLynx 4.2 SCN 943 or if one of the templates in C:/MassLynx/Default.pro/Acqdb is used
• Problem occurs when you export a single method or multiple methods

ENVIRONMENT

• Skyline
• Xevo TQ-XS
• MassLynx 4.2 SCN 943

CAUSE

Incompatibility between Skyline and MassLynx 4.2 SCN 943 (Xevo TQ-XS)

MassLynx 4.2 SCNs for other quad instruments are not affected.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Issue is resolved in MassLynx 4.2 SCN 982

1. Update system to MassLynx 4.2 SCN 982.
2. Create a new method template using MassLynx 4.2 SCN 982.
3. Repeat method export from Skyline using the new template.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Method export from Skyline may require a TargetLynx installation in MassLynx, and may not work if the "desktop processing" option was selected when MassLynx was installed.
