Calibration warning about the calibrated span range during Intellistart STDM on the Xevo TQ-XS - WKB28001

SYMPTOMS

When the user runs the Intellistart - Sample Tune Develop Method (STDM) process on the Xevo  TQ-XS, the following warning is sometimes displayed:

“The requested acquisition span of 5 amu is below the calibrated span range of 5-2046 amu for function 1  Do you wish to apply the calibration ?”

The warning is typically repeated for each function.

If they click Yes, the process successfully runs to completion.

IntelliStart

Xevo TQ-XS

CAUSE

Software defect, reported to development.

The calibration needs to disabled for MRM, because the small span (5) and low scan time (0.1) mean that the scan speed will outside the calibration range. The calibration is already disabled for the SIR and Sample Tune routines.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Click Yes and ignore the warning. A static calibration is automatically applied to the data at the end of the STDM process, anyway.
