MassLynx Tune Page crashes with "application error" when running Startup or Shutdown methods with operate or standby tasks - WKB279263

SYMPTOMS

• MassLynx fails when running a startup method that contains an operate task or a shutdown method that contains the Standby task
• Happens about 50% of the time 
• Error message:
  "Application error 
  Application <instrument code> has encountered an unrecoverable problem and has had to exit."
  Unable to complete execution of C:\MassLynx\Shutdown\<startup method name>.acl or
  Unable to complete execution of C:\MassLynx\Shutdown\<shutdown method name>.acl or
  Unable to complete execution of shut down. Failed to switch mass spectrometer into standby
• <instrument code> e.g. CloverUI error when running the Shutdown Method.
• MassLynx SCN 1043 and SCN 1045
• There may be a fluidics warning on the Tune page
• Communications may not be lost, tune page can be reopened but MS remains in operate.
• Maybe need reboot the computer to recover

CAUSE

Unknown – reported in CRI-6841 – under investigation but might be due to changes in tune page in SCN 1043

FIX or WORKAROUND

Fixed in SCN 1046 and subsequent MassLynx versions
