IntelliStart Sample Tune and Develop Method does not create an exp method - WKB208690

SYMPTOMS

• IntelliStart Sample Tune and Develop Method runs and completes, but MS method is not created
• No error messages seen

ENVIRONMENT

• MassLynx
• Xevo TQ
• Xevo TQ-S
• Xevo TQD
• Xevo TQ-XS

CAUSE

The system cannot find a peak. There is an error message similar to "failed to find a peak", but this message then disappears from the console. This makes it look as though the run completed normally, but it did not. There are no other error messages.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. If the system is watched the entire time with the Chromatogram and Spectrum window open to see if peaks are generated, the error message can be spotted.
2. Find the error (e.g., wrong mass entered, incorrect bottle selected, or other). The mass must be the peak seen on the tune page.
3. Rerun the sample.
