Error: Zp-axis move h/w fault - WKB208489

SYMPTOMS

• "Zp-axis move h/w fault" encountered when trying to inject sample
• The error is triggered by switching to ANSI 96-well 1-mL plate (WAT058957)
• The error does not persist when using a different plate configuration
• Plate configuration and vial format are correct
• Not resolved after Z axis calibration
• Same issue applies when the 48-well 2.mL plate is used instead of the ANSI 48-well 2-mL plate

CAUSE

• The default Z value for the ANSI 96-well 1-mL plate size in the plate configuration is not suitable for Waters 1-mL 96-well plate (WAT058957).
• The default Z value for the 48-well 2-mL plate size in the plate configuration is not suitable for Waters ANSI 2-mL 48-well plate.

FIX or WORKAROUND

• Change the Z value from 310 to 425 (same as the ANSI 96-well 2-mL plate).
• Change the Z value accordingly for the 48-well 2-mL plate, in order for it to match the value of the ANSI 48-well 2-mL plate.
