How to disable Parallel Processing for OpenLynx / OALogin - WKB17597

OBJECTIVE or GOAL
Disable parallel processing on a PC—using a registry edit.
Required after error seen: " *report name*.rpt was not found"
NOTE: registry changes should only be made by suitably trained personnel. All local SOPs must be followed.

PROCEDURE
Note: Parallel Processing is disabled by default in SCN 1048 and subsequent releases.
Disable parallel processing using the following registry edit.
Note: Always consult user SOPs before modifying the registry.
Note: For Windows 10 PCs ensure the registry change described in article wkb239714 is performed before installing / changing any software
For Windows 10 and Windows 7:
- Close MassLynx and any related applications.
- Create two new registry keys to disable parallel processing as described below.
- Open the Registry Editor (either search for or browse to regedit.exe).
- Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE.
- Create a new Key called Micromass:
- Click Edit > New > Key.
- Type Micromass to name the new key.
- Create a new DWORD (32 bit) value:
- Click on the new Micromass key, and then click Edit > New > DWORD (32 bit) value.
- Rename this to DisableParallelProcessing.
- Right-click on the DisableParallelProcessing entry and select Modify…
- Change Value data from 0 to 1 and click OK.
- Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Micromass\MassLynx and create the same DWORD DisableParallelProcessing key here.
Note: if a DisableParallelProcessing key already exists but is type REG_SZ then delete this key (Edit > Delete) and create a new DWORD key as below. - Click MassLynx, and then click Edit > New > DWORD (32 bit) value.
- Rename this to DisableParallelProcessing.
- Right-click on DisableParallelProcessing and select Modify…
- Change Value data from 0 to 1.
- Click OK.
- Close the Registry Editor and restart MassLynx.
