Cannot extract 2D channels from 3D PDA data in MassLynx - WKB1767

SYMPTOMS

• Using TargetLynx to extract a wavelength from a PDA chromatogram
• TargetLynx does not recognize a single wavelength; gives a straight-line trace
• Works if using TIC (full scan 3D data) as the Quantification Trace

ENVIRONMENT

• MassLynx
• TargetLynx
• PDA

CAUSE

The default Chromatogram Mass Window setting of 0.02 in the TargetLynx method is too narrow for PDA data where the detector resolution is only 1.2 nm.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. In the TargetLynx method, make the following changes in Compound Properties:
   • "Use absolute mass window?" set to YES
   • Chromatogram Mass Window (da) = 1.0
