SQD instrument software communication failure when opening - WKB194906

SYMPTOMS

• SQD instrument software communication failure when opening
• Ping of the instrument OK
• Connection to telnet epc OK
• Not possible to control SQD
• When opening Console, no serial number, calibration state, all is missing

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower
• Windows 20H2
• SQD
• Empower 3 FR4 SR3 HF1
• SQD driver: 1.44
• Waters driver pack: 2019 release 1
• Firewall is completely disabled; the exclusions are not set

CAUSE

The issue started when updating to Windows 10 build 20H2. 

Reverting to Windows version used previously (build 1909) resolved the issue.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Revert to a known working Windows 10 version.
2. Recommendaton: Install supported Windows 10 version (currently v1607 LTSB).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• All steps in WKB99782 attempted.
• Removing and adding instruments from DHCP one by one did not resolve the issue.
