What is a dissociated sample set in Empower? - WKB109925

Article number: 109925

ENVIRONMENT

  • Empower 3

ANSWER

When a ‘Sample Set Method’ is run, it creates an object called a sample set. That sample set has objects within it called channels and injections. They are linked. When Alter Sample is used to make a change to a running sample set (for example renaming the sample set or modifying a Sample Set Information field), it can cause the channels and injections to become unlinked from the sample set. Thus they become disassociated or dissociated from the sample set.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

A message appears when the sample set is running and the user is trying to alter the sample set from the browse project window (Not from the run sample window). Whatever injections the user is going to add or remove will not be changed on the running sample set.

Here's a documented PCS as an outcome of this change: https://www.waters.com/waters/support.htm?lid=55905&type=DFCT
