Installing the one-piece reference probe

Article number: 79326

Required materials

  • Chemical-resistant, powder-free gloves
  • 4-mm open-end wrench
  • 2-mm hex wrench

To install the new reference probe:

  1. Insert the capillary end of the new reference probe into the reference sprayer assembly, ensuring that it is fully seated.

  1. Screw the PEEK finger-tight fitting clockwise until you hear an audible click.

Note: This seats the capillary correctly and avoids dead volume.

  1. Using the 4-mm open-end wrench, adjust the reference sprayer to ensure the correct capillary protrusion as required.

4. Insert the reference sprayer assembly into its support assembly with the reference sprayer tip pointing upward.

Tip: Align the stem on the reference sprayer assembly with the guide hole in the reference sprayer support assembly.

  1. Rotate the reference sprayer assembly 90 degrees counterclockwise to lock it in place.

  1. Rotate the reference probe inlet connector until its groove aligns with the source housing notch.
  2. Insert the reference probe inlet connector up to the notch through the hole in the source housing.

  1. Push the reference probe inlet connector upwards until the bayonet grove is above the notch.
  2. Rotate the reference probe inlet connector until the bayonet groove aligns with the notch on the source housing.

  1. Push down on the reference probe inlet assembly to lock it into position within the bayonet fixing.
  2. Refit the source enclosure (see Fitting the source enclosure to the instrument).
