Emptying the nitrogen exhaust trap bottle

Inspect the nitrogen exhaust trap bottle in the instrument exhaust line daily, and empty it before it is more than approximately 10% full.

Required materials

  • Chemical-resistant, powder-free gloves

To empty the nitrogen exhaust trap bottle:

  1. Pull the source enclosure release (located at the bottom, right-hand side) outward, and swing open the enclosure.

Warning: To avoid personal contamination with biologically hazardous, toxic, and corrosive materials, wear chemical-resistant, powder-free gloves when performing this procedure.

  1. Unscrew and remove the nitrogen exhaust trap bottle from the cap and associated fittings.

Warning: To avoid spreading contamination with biologically hazardous, toxic, and corrosive materials, dispose of all waste materials according to local environmental regulations.

  1. Dispose of the waste liquid in accordance with local environmental regulations.
  2. Fit and tighten the nitrogen exhaust trap bottle to the cap.
  3. Secure the nitrogen exhaust trap bottle in the upright position.
  4. Close the source enclosure.

Tip: An automatic pressure test is performed.
