"Invalid plate position" with 2767 Sample Manager - WKB8489

SYMPTOMS

• 2767 invalid plate position error upon initialization
• Plate positions defined in the bed layout are correct
• Reference position could not be calibrated because the icon is unavailable
• Reset of communications and reboot do not remove error
• Most common configuration: 3 x 96 Deep Well Vial Racks and 4 x 18-mm Scintillation Vessel Racks

ENVIRONMENT

• 2767 Sample Manager.

CAUSE

The x axis component for the collection plate is out of range, exceeding the limits of the bed in the software. The limits for the x axis in the software are 0 (min) - 6423 (max).

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Modify the bed layout and set an appropriate number for the X, Y, and Z parameters of each rack. (You may need to manually specify values.)
2. Recalibrate the reference position.
3. Re-initialize the system.
