SYMPTOMS

• Upon injection, one or both of the following errors appear: "Z axis move H/W Fault", "Zp axis move h/w fault"
• Both errors are seen in the error log in the ACQUITY console

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY UPLC H-Class
• ACQUITY UPLC I-Class
• ACQUITY UPLC M-Class
• ACQUITY PREMIER
• UPC2
• Empower

CAUSE

Incorrect plate configuration or incorrect vial selection.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Configure for an ANSI plate.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Any non-ANSI plate will cause this error upon injection.

Ensure the vial placement is correct, i.e. V:1, 1:A,1, 1:1.
