How to reboot the Cyclic IMS instrument - WKB96680

OBJECTIVE or GOAL

Reboot the Cyclic IMS instrument.

ENVIRONMENT

• SELECT SERIES Cyclic IMS
• MassLynx SCN 1016 RC1 and higher

PROCEDURE

1. Close MassLynx. This stops the Typhoon gate control.
2. If using an LC system, start the “stop processes” bat file from the C:\MassLynx\bin folder.
3. On the back instrument panel, flip the "pump override" switch to the "override" position.
4. Turn the electronics breaker off and wait 30 seconds.
5. Turn electronics on and wait about four minutes. The rebooted embedded PC is indicated by a solid white LED ribbon or by "ping epc -t" in the command line.
6. Start MassLynx.
7. Open the tune page and confirm the vacuum readbacks are active before taking the instrument out of pump override.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Before starting further acquisitions, turn on the Tune page, refill fluidics, start infusion, and press Tune to observe the beam. When using an LC-MS setup, ensure that all configured LC modules are turned on. To gain full communication, it may be useful to press "Tools" > "Reset Communications" in the inlet method editor.
