Spectrum is missing or compressed on Elemental Composition report printout - WKB9628
Article number: 9628
SYMPTOMS
- When Spectrum header is set up to contain multiple lines of information, the spectrum is subjected to elemental composition analysis, and the elemental composition results are printed as a report, the spectrum diagram is either missing or compressed to a single line
- Occurs on all MassLynx software for Xevo GS-XS and Xevo GS Qtof/Tof up to and including SCN 958
- Example 1 - Spectrum missing completely
- Example 2 - Spectrum compressed to a line
ENVIRONMENT
- Xevo G2-XS QTof (all MassLynx 4.1 and 4.2, up to and including SCN 966 with SCN 1010 patch)
- Xevo G2-XS Tof (all MassLynx 4.1 and 4.2, up to and including SCN 966 with SCN 1010 patch)
- Xevo G2 Tof
- Xevo G2 QTof
- MassLynx
CAUSE
Bug
FIX or WORKAROUND
- It is not possible to work around this within the QTof instrument control SCNs.
- This problem does not happen in desktop processing SCNs.
- Transfer the data to a standalone processing PC with a desktop processing SCN (e.g., SCN 909 or SCN 943), and carry out Elemental Composition processing and report printing using that PC.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This was raised as software defects PFD18757 and PFD18091, which were declined. The defect has again been added to the MassLynx backlog reference ML709.
There are no plans to work on this for instrument control versions of software. The function works on the recommended Desktop processing version of MassLynx. Always use desktop versions of MassLynx for processing.
