Reduced sensitivity in APCI mode after replacing the corona pin - WKB94041

SYMPTOMS

• Sensitivity lower after replacing the corona pin
• Evident after a PM

ENVIRONMENT

• APCI
• Xevo TQ-S micro

CAUSE

The corona voltage needs to be retuned after replacing the corona pin.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Infuse sample combined with LC flow and optimize the corona voltage (or current) to give the best signal.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Different corona pins sit in slightly different positions, so after replacing a pin it may be necessary to optimize the corona voltage again. Probe position and capillary length may also need adjusting.
