"SQD2 Error" in Console - WKB8947

SYMPTOMS

• Instrument addressed correctly in WDHCP Server Configuration
• Status in Empower Instrument tab "Yes"
• "SQD2 Error" in Console 
• Instrument Failure in Empower "Run Samples" window

ENVIRONMENT

• SQ Detector 2 (SQD2)
• Empower 3

CAUSE

Incorrect entry in hosts file (C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts).

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Edit "hosts" file in the location above to match address in WDHCP Server Configuration window.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

On occasions, host file opens as "read-only" and will not be saved correctly due to limited user account privileges. Waters recommends that you save edited file into different location (such as Desktop) and then manually overwrite it using administrator privileges or administrator account.
