OBJECTIVE or GOAL

Reboot the EPC on a TQ Detector, 3100 Mass Detector, or SQ Detector.

ENVIRONMENT

• TQ Detector
• SQ Detector
• 3100 Mass Detector

PROCEDURE

1. Close MassLynx and the MS console.
2. Press the EPC reboot switch on the front of the instrument (small red button inside the cover, to the left of the source enclosure).
3. Wait for the EPC to run through its boot sequence and chime.
4. Open MassLynx.
5. Open the Tune page.
6. Turn on the API gas and place the instrument in Operate mode.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This procedure is often necessary when communications are lost between the instrument and the software.
