"Error: Scan Error Detected" in Xevo G2-XS (with Hyperterminal) and lost communications with UNIFI - WKB82450

SYMPTOMS

• Tof loses communications with UNIFI during long sample sets (intermittent).
• No errors shown in UNIFI.
• If Hyperterminal is collected from LND during run, repeated entries of "Error: Scan Error Detector" appear.
• Electronic restart recovers connection until more long sample sets are run.

ENVIRONMENT

• Xevo G2-XS QTof
• UNIFI 1.9.4 (Server network)
• ACQUITY I-Class UPLC

CAUSE

ADC Data Limit is overloaded by chemical background peaks from LC, causing dropped EPC link.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Perform Acid/Base cleaning on UPLC system.
