SYMPTOMS

  • Solvent leaks from the diverter valve
  • Leak sensor triggered

ENVIRONMENT

CAUSE

1 - The ESI probe capillary is blocked.

2 - The red PEEK waste line on the diverter valve is blocked.

3 - The LC to divert valve tubing is blocked or fittings aren't tight enough to withstand the pressure

FIX or WORKAROUND

Solution 1:

  1. Follow the instructional video on how to replace the ESI capillary. View here.
  2. Reinstall tubing into the fluidics valve port that was leaking.
  3. Test for functionality.

Solution 2:

Replace the red PEEK waste line, LC to divert valve tubing and fittings.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

As a result of the blocked ESI capillary, the increased pressure seen post column may pop any of the finger tight fittings post column.
