SYMPTOMS

  • Run does not start when a batch is submitted from the MassLynx sample list
  • Sample list status is "Acquiring"
  • Instrument status is "Not Scanning" or "Instrument Present"
  • Instrument status does not change to "Waiting for Inlet Start 1"

ENVIRONMENT

  • TQ Detector
  • MassLynx
  • Xevo TQ-S micro
  • Xevo TQD

CAUSE

Communication issue

FIX or WORKAROUND

  1. Close MassLynx.
  2. Run StopMasslynxProcesses.cmd found at desktop short cut or at C:\program files (x86) \ Waters Instruments \ bin
  3. Reboot the embedded PC (EPC):
    1. START > Run; enter Telnet EPC into the run dialog.
    2. In the Telnet window, at the blinking cursor, type "reboot" and hit Enter.
    3. Wait for the operate LED on the TQD to go from RED to OFF.
    4. Open MassLynx and verify communication.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

If you are unable to connect to the EPC via the Telnet command, push the EPC reset button (tiny red micro switch) on the TQD, or push the recessed reset button on the Xevo.
