SYMPTOMS

• Loud screeching noise comes from turbo when source enclosure is opened or when venting
• Changes pitch when isolation valve is opened or closed

ENVIRONMENT

• SYNAPT G2-Si

CAUSE

Failing turbo pump

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Vent and investigate the oil pot and bearing to ensure it's not a bearing failing. 
2. Rotate the fan blade shaft from below and listen for sound of blades scraping against the interior surface.
3. Replace the turbo pump (700009266 - Edwards 300D) if necessary.
