ANSWER
The Low Flow Mode is for use with the Trizaic source or the nanospray source. It is meant to be used for nanoflow methods that have long trapping times to protect the emitter when no flow is coming from the column/emitter tip. When low flow mode is selected, the capillary voltage is turned off during the trapping time.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The IonKey source typically has short trapping times, and so it is not recommended to use low flow mode with the IonKey.
