SYMPTOMS

• No spray seen when infusing at flow rate between 10 and 100 µL/min
• Spray looks fine when infusing at 200 µL/min
• Spray looks fine when flowing from UPLC

ENVIRONMENT

• Xevo TQ-S
• Xevo TQ-XS
• Xevo TQ-S micro

CAUSE

Partial blockage in the electrospray probe capillary

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Flush strong solvent through the electrospray probe for several hours to remove any compounds that may have precipitated.
2. Flush aqueous solution through the electrospray probe for several hours to flush out any salts that may have precipitated.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 as needed until spray is stable when infusing.
4. If flushing does not unblock the probe, then rebuild it using part 700004672.
