OBJECTIVE or GOAL

PROCEDURE

This procedure refers to MassLynx 4.1 & 4.2. Refer to attached video to detailed description.

1. Open MassLynx Default.Pro Project if possible.

2. Close MassLynx if it is running.

3. Reboot the Acquisition PC and log into Windows.

4. On the rear off the MS, flip down the pump override switch (so all Turbo Pumps and the Rough Pump will remain on once the electronics are switched off). It's the upper of the two switches.

NOTE: To toggle the switched, you must pull them out slightly then toggle. You cannot simply flip them up and down.

5. Flip down the electronics switch to turn off the MS. That's the lower of the two switches. (Note: To toggle the switches, you must pull them out slight first, then toggle. They cannot simply be moved up or down.)

6. Wait for at least 2 min.

7. Switch the electronics back on (lower switch to up position).

8. Wait for at least 5 min.

9.Open MassLynx, make sure you have instrument control and the vacuum gauges are active. If so, put the pump override switch back into auto position (flip the upper switch up).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

See attached file below for a video on how to do this with (MASSLYNX systems only) as well as resetting the UPLC stack and clearing out the DHCP to start from scratch. This is best to do if comms issues are occurring frequently.
