Loss of communication with EPC on ZQ - WKB48718

SYMPTOMS

• Cannot ping EPC
• Error when opening Tune: "Embedded system not responding, system will run in stand-alone mode"
• Trying to reset the EPC results in constant rebooting

ENVIRONMENT

• ZQ
• Quattro micro
• MassLynx 4.1
• Windows XP

CAUSE

Micromass user account has been disabled, had password changed, or was otherwise modified.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Ensure that there is a Windows user called "micromass".
2. Set the password to "analysis" and make sure to set the password to never expire.
3. Reboot the EPC and restart MassLynx.
4. Verify that communications are restored.
