- System is not able to perform any MS/MS, and then communication is lost
- MassLynx displays the error message “Application Lancaster has encountered a problem and needs to close”
- Rebooting the host PC does not fix the problem
- Hard rebooting of the MS (this sometimes needs to be done several times) temporarily fixes the fault
