Intermittent communications dropout or no connection to Xevo TQ-XS or Xevo TQ-S - WKB30889

SYMPTOMS

• Multiple possible symptoms:
• No communications with MS but can connect to inlet
• Console message: MS communication failure.
• Intermittent communications
• Sample list pausing randomly
• System is not able to perform any MS/MS, and then communication is lost
• MassLynx displays the error message “Application Lancaster has encountered a problem and needs to close”
• Rebooting the host PC does not fix the problem
• Hard rebooting of the MS (this sometimes needs to be done several times) temporarily fixes the fault
• No communication between instrument and PC
• Might be able to Ping EPC
• Hyperterminal will not boot
• Or errors in Hyperterminal log such as:

  • Failed to save file to flash.
    Get failed!
    Failed to sync file, trying local copy...
    get_file OK.
    3445504Error reading ELF32 load segment.
    Load Module failed

    Error loading file: errno = 0x610007.
    Can't load boot file!!  

  • MassLynx Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime error!
    R6025 - pure virtual function call.

CAUSE

Faulty EPC

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Replace EPC.
2. Import treg file.
3. Reboot via hyperterminal.
