ENVIRONMENT

ANSWER

If it is just one of the LC components that needs to be reset:
A:
- open the console select the control drop down menu and rest that module
- once reset open the inlet method editor and select the LC drop down menu and select reset.

If A fails try B:
- exit MassLynx (first close the tune page, inlet editor and console)
- run stopACQUITYprocesses
- open MassLynx and test

If A and B fail, then try C:
- exit MassLynx
- power off the ACQUITY (can reboot the PC at this point if desired)
- power it back on starting with the column manger or the sample manager (whichever one has all of the Ethernet cables connecting to it)
- open MassLynx and test

If the MS loses communication then:
D:
- exit MassLynx
- run stopACQUITYprocesses

If D fails try E:
- exit MassLynx
- run stopACQUITYprocesses
- select the start button for windows and in the search for programs and files window type: telnet epc
- this opens a black command prompt window  with a > prompt, type: reboot <enter>
- wait 5 minutes
- open MassLynx and test

If D and E fail then try F:

  1. Exit MassLynx.
  2. Reboot the PC.
  3. Unplug the Ethernet switch-box if you have one in use.
  4. Log back into the PC.
  5. Power on the Ethernet switch-box if you have one in use.
  6. Go to the back of the MS; at the bottom-middle, you will see two toggle switches.
  7. If the system is pumped down, flip the top switch down. This step must be done before the following step. If the system is vented, then this step is not required. If the rough pumps are vibrating, the system is pumped down.
  8. Flip the bottom switch down.
  9. Wait a minute and then flip only the bottom switch up.
  10. Wait 5 minutes.
  11. Open MassLynx.
  12. Ensure that the vacuum readings are "real" and that everything is communicating properly.
  13. If the vacuum readings are not real (all of them are maxed out to the left), repeat the above procedure. If the vacuum readings are good, flip the top switch on the back of the MS back to the up position to take the system out of pump override.
  14. Put the MS into Operate and confirm functionality
