SYMPTOMS

• Xevo G3 "Reference Fluidics Percentage Left Error"
  
• In the instrument console, under Optimization, an artificially large number of time left is shown for the reference syringe.
• In the instrument console, under Summary, the error message appears:
  
  

ENVIRONMENT

• Xevo G3 QTof
• Xevo G2-XS
• waters_connect

CAUSE

Loss of communication with reference fluidics

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. In many cases, the error is solved with an EPC reboot. So first, press the reset button at the instrument front above the source enclosure. If required proceed with the full reboot below.
2. Exit waters_connect.
3. Shut down stack.
4. Put MS into Pump override.
5. Shut MS electronics toggle switch at the back of system.
6. Restart the PC.
7. Log in to PC.
8. Wait 5 minutes.
9. Turn on stack one module at a time.
10. Turn on MS and wait 5 minutes.
11. Engage waters_connect.
12. Go to System console.
13. On the G3 tab, if the error still shows up on the Summary tab, click Resolve/Recheck. This should clear the error.
14. If the issue persists, try another EPC reboot using Hyperterminal or the reset button on the front of the instrument (beside the source electrical connectors).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

If repeated reboots do not help, there may indeed be a fault on the reference fluidics control PCB (700004513).
