OBJECTIVE or GOAL

Set up a shutdown method for SELECT SERIES Cyclic IMS.

ENVIRONMENT

• SELECT SERIES Cyclic IMS
• MassLynx

PROCEDURE

1. In MassLynx, open the Shutdown method editor (via shortcut or at bottom-left in the MassLynx sample table view.
2. Open the Autocontrol task tab and configure functions as required. Note: Only source standby will work; instrument standby does not work. Depending on the customer's preference, include or don't include Helium Gas off (see wkb237995).

3. On the Shutdown tab of the shutdown method editor, only apply batch shutdown and configure the delay time (e.g., 30 min after batch). Currently, we don't configure error shutdown.

4. In MassLynx, under Shortcut for Instrument, Shutdown can be used to apply a shutdown manually.

5. A startup method MUST be configured to ensure that Helium Gas is turned back ON. It is not automatically switched on when putting the instrument into Operate.
